- A PLAYER IS ONLY ELIGIBLE TO BE ON YOUR ACTIVE ROSTER THEIR DEBUT IS IMMINENT, i.e. the MLB team has called them up. If a rookie makes the opening day roster, they can be added.
Trade Restriction:
- No draft picks beyond the next season can be dealt.
- Prior to the draft, no picks beyond the 5th round can be dealt.
- No draft picks that are not needed can be dealt (applies for draft in progress).
- Any trade deemed 'not in the best interest of fair play' will be vetoed. The veto is extremely rare in this league. Players have played with a high level of respect for each other. It is the cornerstone of the longevity of this league. It will be protected as needed.
Roster Moves:
- There will be a cap of 40 roster moves during the season and three per match-up. The 40 move cap (only) will be removed for playoffs.
- There is no limit on trades.
Waiver Draft Eligibility:
- All Players are eligible for the Waiver Draft MUST have MLB game experience.
-
Entry Draft Eligible:
-
- Players must meet eligibility requirements set forth in the section on Farm Team Makeup.
- Players with Waiver status on ESPN must pass through unclaimed. Only players with FA (Free Agent) status can be claimed for the farm.
- Entry draft Eligibility Clarification: (MADE Jan. 6, 2012)
Any Player meeting the farm eligibility requirements of Games Pitched or ABs is eligible. This includes all unsigned drafted players and/or international players. If your pick does not sign a contract, you lose the rights to that player. You lose the rights to a drafted player IF: - 1) The player enters college. (for MLB high school draftees)
- 2) The U.S. player is unsigned by end MLB regular season in which drafted or claimed.
- 3) The International Player does NOT sign by end of MLB season in which drafted or claimed.
- The entry drafts take place as follows:
- 1) Off season 2 round draft.
- 2) In season 2 round draft (after MLB draft).
Farm Team Makeup:
- 6 players of any position
- *Pitchers— Any player having appeared in (changed to 59 games after 2011 regular season) or less games. No age limit.
- *Batters—Any player having had 799 or less at-bats. No age limit.
- Players meeting these conditions as of April 1 of the season are farm eligible. They may remain on the farm during that season despite passing either limit. However, if they are called up to the main squad, they can NOT return to the farm if the limit is surpassed.
NOTE: Players CAN'T be claimed if their status is ON WAIVER.
Farm Team Eligibility:
- Farm players are allowed to go back and forth from Farm to Active roster throughout the season. When a farm player moves to the active roster, the GM will have to drop another player from the active roster, in accordance with normal Yahoo free agent rules. You may then also add another farm player to take the place of the one you just called up. You may also waive a farm player and then sign a different one, as you would on your active roster. This must be done on the Yahoo league page message board.
- I will patrol the waiver wire to make sure that another team doesn't pick up your farm players; if they do they are subject to having their roster locked for three days keeping them from changing their roster, so be sure to check. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
Roster Protection:
- At the conclusion of your season, you can choose up to 12 players to protect from your active roster. A protection must be used on ANY pitcher who has reached the 60 appearances mark and any batter who has reached the 800 at bats mark. Any player that is under those marks needs to not be protected as they are exempt and can remain on your roster if you like for "free".
- Please send me your keepers in the following order:
- Keepers
- Exempt
- Cut
Draft Order:
- ENTRY DRAFT ORDER: Changed prior to 2024 season, traditional 'worst to first' snaked draft, same goes for waiver draft. This rule change is in probationary status, if I think people are tanking we will revise
- WAIVER DRAFT ORDER: See Entry draft notes
- We use a yahoo draft board. Please be considerate to the time of others. Visit the draft often. Be aware as your pick comes near. Quick turnaround is appreciated by everyone.
Grounds for Removal:
- Failure to compete, update line-ups regularly.
- Missing in action for weeks at a time (without notification).
- Behavior detrimental to the welfare of the league.
- Lack of meeting deadlines.
